US Import Duties and Taxes

CURRENT IMPORT GUIDANCE

Orders shipped to the United States may be assessed customs duties, tariffs, taxes, or carrier clearance charges by the relevant authorities.

  • No guaranteed duty-free threshold: Duty-free de minimis treatment for shipments to the United States has been suspended. Charges may apply regardless of the order value.
  • Charges are determined externally: Customs authorities and carriers determine any applicable duties, taxes, and clearance fees. We cannot guarantee or waive those charges.

Customer Responsibility

Import charges are separate from the product price and free shipping offered by our store unless checkout explicitly states that a charge is included.

  • Customs Duties & Tariffs: Your package may be subject to import duties, tariffs, taxes, and customs clearance fees assessed by US Customs and Border Protection or other authorities.
  • Carrier Processing Fees: Shipping carriers such as DHL, FedEx, or UPS may charge a nominal disbursement or brokerage fee for handling customs clearance on your behalf.
  • Customer Responsibility: Unless expressly collected at checkout, any import duties, tariffs, taxes, or clearance charges are the responsibility of the customer (recipient).

US State Sales Tax

Applicable state and local sales tax depends on the destination and the tax rules in effect when you order:

  • Review Checkout: Any sales tax collected by our store will be shown at checkout before payment.
  • Import Charges Are Separate: Customs or carrier charges assessed after purchase may not appear in the Shopify checkout total.

Customs Clearance & Delivery Process

To ensure your order passes through US Customs without delay before Oktoberfest or your special event, please keep the following in mind:

Accurate Shipping Information Ensure your full legal name, delivery address, phone number, and email address are correct at checkout.

Carrier Contact If US Customs or our courier requires additional verification for high-value orders, they may contact you directly via phone or email.

Prompt Response Respond quickly to customs or carrier requests to help prevent customs holds or shipping delays.
Refused Shipments: If a shipment is refused due to unpaid customs duties or invalid delivery information, the customer remains responsible for round-trip shipping costs and any customs clearance fees incurred.
